Refund and Returns Policy

Thank you for supporting my artwork at tomfoxart.com! As an independent artist based in Dunedin, New Zealand, I pour heart and soul into creating unique pieces—from large-scale chalk pastel drawings to abstract watercolor landscapes and handmade gift cards—that I hope bring a touch of inspiration to your space.

Please note that all my work is handmade, some of which is to order, so production times can vary depending on the piece and current demand. Typically, expect 4-8 weeks for completion before shipping for smaller commissioned paintings and 2-4 months for large drawings, though this may extend during busier periods. I’ll keep you updated via email every step of the way, and you’ll receive tracking details once your order ships. If there’s any delay, I’ll reach out promptly to the email you supplied at checkout with details.

Your satisfaction means everything to me—feel free to email tomfoxtat2@gmail.com with any questions before or after purchasing. I’m here to help!

Please review this policy carefully before placing an order. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.

1. Returns and Refunds

All sales are final due to the custom and handmade nature of my art. I don’t offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, as originals are one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. However, if your piece arrives damaged or not as described, I’ll happily provide a replacement or repair at no extra cost (see below for details).

2. Damage or Issues

If your artwork arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact me at tomfoxtat2@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery. Include photos and a description of the issue, and I’ll work with you to resolve it quickly—whether that’s a replacement, repair, or, in rare cases, a full refund. Returns for damage must be in original packaging; please note return shipping is to New Zealand.

3. Commissions and Custom Work

For commissioned portraits or custom pieces, deposits are non-refundable once work begins. Full payment is due upon completion before artwork is sent, and the same damage policy applies. If you need to discuss timelines or adjustments upfront, email me before starting.

4. Shipping Information

I package everything with care to ensure safe arrival. Shipping within New Zealand is calculated at checkout (starting from $15 NZD for smaller items). International shipping varies by destination and weight (typically $30-80 NZD for standard pieces). All import costs, including duties, taxes, customs fees, and any related charges, are the responsibility of the buyer and payable upon arrival in your country. These are not included in the shipping price quoted at checkout. To estimate these costs in advance, I recommend using online tools like SimplyDuty.com or checking with your local customs authority (e.g., via their website or helpline) based on your country’s import rules for artwork. I’ll confirm any additional shipping costs via email if your order is unusually large or heavy.

5. Customer Satisfaction

I’m committed to making sure you’re thrilled with your purchase. If something doesn’t feel right, get in touch—I’m always open to chatting about options before you buy.

6. Cancellations

If you need to cancel, please let me know at tomfoxtat2@gmail.com within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund (minus any payment processing fees). For commissioned art, deposit refunds aren’t possible once materials or work have started.

For any other questions, drop me a line at tomfoxtat2@gmail.com—I’m just an email away.

Thanks again for choosing my art. Your support helps me keep creating from my Dunedin studio!
